Joseph A. Garcia – Partner/Shareholder

JAG - Small

Experience counts. Joe graduated from Florida International University in 2000 and from St. Thomas School of Law in 2004.  After law school, Joe began working for a prestigious litigation boutique where he specialized in the area of Third Party Liability defense for numerous government entities (Miami-Dade and Indian River County School Boards; City of Hollywood, City of Aventura) through their insurance carriers (AIG, Travelers, ACE USA, Nova). He has authored numerous appellate briefs; including a successful appeal to the 11th Circuit District Court of appeal while defending a South Florida community college (finding that Florida sovereign immunity applies to community colleges as instrumentalities of the State).

He is a seasoned trial attorney—with a $0 full defense verdict obtained less than 24 months ago (Third Party Liability claim with $500,000.00 damages on the board). He also has extensive experience in construction defect litigation stemming from general commercial liability policies.  Currently, he serves as general and coverage counsel for a major Architect/General Contracting firm in Miami. In the area of First Party Property claims, Joe’s clients often call on him to provide litigation defense, SIU services, coverage opinions, and legal memorandums as special assignments. Joe is Cuban-American and speaks Spanish with native fluency—an important advantage in South Florida.

He is a member in good standing of the Florida Bar, and is accepted to practice in all three Federal District Courts in Florida (Southern, Middle, and Northern), and is also member of the Federal Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeal.
